Your First Dive: Information for Beginners

I’ve never dived before. Do I need any special preparation?

No special preparation is needed! We take care of everything for you. All necessary diving equipment will be provided on the boat. Before you enter the water, our expert PADI instructors will give a clear and thorough briefing, explaining everything you need to know for a safe and enjoyable first dive. Your comfort and safety are our top priorities.

What should I bring with me on the dive boat?

Think of it as a day at the beach! We recommend bringing:

  • Swimsuit and a towel
  • Sunglasses and a hat for sun protection
  • Environmentally-friendly sunscreen
  • Any personal items you may need

We provide everything else. All diving and snorkeling equipment, as well as fresh food and a selection of drinks, are included to ensure you have a comfortable and fantastic day on the Red Sea.

Health & Safety

Do I need a doctor’s certificate to go diving?

Your health and safety are paramount. PADI requires all divers to complete a medical self-assessment questionnaire. We will provide this to you, but you can also review it in advance here: PADI Medical Questionnaire.

If you answer “NO” to all the questions, you do not need to see a doctor.
If you answer “YES” to any of the questions, you must get a signed medical clearance from a physician confirming you are fit for diving before you can participate in any in-water activities.
If you have any uncertainty or pre-existing conditions (especially concerning your heart, lungs, ears, or sinuses, or if you’ve had recent surgery), consulting a doctor specializing in dive medicine is the safest course of action.

I’m worried about sharks in the Red Sea. Is it safe to dive?

This is a very common and understandable question. While the Red Sea is a wild environment and home to many incredible animals, including sharks, encounters while diving in Hurghada are extremely rare. The dive sites we visit are not known as shark aggregation areas.

It’s helpful to know that sharks are generally not interested in divers. Our professional PADI guides are experts in marine life behaviour and your safety is their primary concern at all times. Diving provides a unique opportunity to observe the underwater world respectfully. We believe education is the best way to overcome fear and foster appreciation for these magnificent animals.

Courses, Bookings & Payment

I’m taking a course. How does the PADI eLearning work?

PADI eLearning is a fantastic way to complete the theory portion of your course online at your own pace before you arrive. To ensure a smooth start, we typically register you and send the eLearning link about two weeks before your course begins.

Please note there is an additional charge of €20 for this PADI product. The eLearning fee must be paid in advance to receive your access and is non-refundable once it has been sent, as per PADI policies.

What is your refund policy for courses and dives?

eLearning: As mentioned above, PADI eLearning fees are non-refundable once the access link has been sent.
Courses & Dives: We understand that plans can change. If you are unable to start or complete your dives due to illness, accident, or another significant reason, you will be refunded for any diving days not yet completed. Please note that any diving days already undertaken must be paid for. This also applies to courses that have been started but could not be finished.

Can I pay with a credit or debit card?

We currently accept payments in cash (EUR) only. Unfortunately, card payment facilities are not available.

We recommend bringing sufficient euros with you for your diving activities. Please be aware that ATMs in Egypt primarily dispense Egyptian Pounds (EGP), and currency exchange services often have high fees.General Information

What languages do you speak?

We are a multilingual team! Initial inquiries and bookings are handled by Nathalie, who speaks fluent German, English, French and Italian. On the boat, our dive team is fully proficient in English, ensuring clear communication and safety for all our international guests.
